The Council Tax Support Fund 2023/24 is additional funding provided by central government to support economically vulnerable households who pay council tax.

It provides extra financial support to working age and pension age households who have been awarded Council Tax Support in 2023/24, the payment of up to £25 is awarded automatically so no application is needed.

The maximum award is £25.  The amount that is awarded depends on the amount of council tax liability that is outstanding after any discounts, exemptions, reliefs and any normal Council Tax Support that has been awarded.  If the outstanding amount is £25 or more, you will be awarded £25.  If the outstanding amount is less than £25, you will be awarded the amount that is outstanding.

The award has been credited directly to your 2023/24 council tax bill.  It will not show on your bill separately; it will be included in your council tax support award.

If you need any further support with your council tax, you can apply for a discretionary council tax reduction.  Further information about this, can be found at Discretionary Housing Payment.
